Gov Umahi's Aide, Amuche Otunta Buries Father Amidst Glowing Tributes

Chief Egwu Otunta, father of the
Special Assistant to governor David Umahi on government House, Mrs Amauche Otunta,has been laid to rest in his country home, Afikpo North local government Area of the state.

Amuche, in her tribute described  her late father, Chief Egwu Otunta as a strong and hard working man,that was filled with the fear of God.

Speaking further, Mrs Amauche Otunta expressed her deep gratitude to His Excellency, the governor of Ebonyi state, Engr.David Umahi, members of the state executive council, friends and well wishes who came in their great numbers  to grace the occasion.
She further described her father as a man of the people ,the voice of the community,a great leader who never failed the people he was leading noting that her father lived for others. 

Mrs Otunta, particularly, thanked governor David Umahi, for fully identifying with the family, stressing that she was overwhelmed with joy as the burial attracted who is who in Ebonyi state,courtesy of  the governor.

In her words, "am overwhelmed  with joy, because, I didn't know that the governor, His Excellency, the incoming president of Nigeria, will honour me this way. 

"Who am I to attract the whole state.Where would I have been if Engr.David Umahi,did not pick me and lifted me the way he did. 
"There is no body who is who in Ebonyi state that did not attend this burial. It is an honour,and I think,there is no burial in Afikpo North that is as great as this. It is something I will never forget in my life.

"I know wherever my father is,he will be happy. He died a great man and was honoured like a great man".


The burial ceremony was well attended by members of the state executive council,including,the deputy governor who represented governor David Umahi,commissioner for Information and state Orientation,Barr.Uchenna Orji, secretary to the state government,Dr.Kenneth Ugballa,attorney general and commissioner for justice,Barr.Cletus Ofoke,commissioner for Education,Dr.Sunday Nwangele,commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters,Chief Donatus Njoku,commissioner for Housing and urban development,Chief Clement Nweke, SSA to the governor on legal matters and conflict resolution,Barr.Emeka Nwode,principal secretary to the governor,Chief Emmanuel Obasi, among other EXCO members.
