National Association of Nigerians Students NANS Zone F (South East), have risen in solidarity with Ebonyi State Governor, Engr David Umahi and his Deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe on the recent court Judgements against them.
In a press statement endorsed by Comr. Oko Ewa Chukwumaijem, NANS
Acting Deputy Coordinator, NANS Zone F, noted with dismay the unwarranted distraction such legal action may have caused.
The statement reads in full;
"Office of the Acting Deputy Coordinator NANS Zone F(South East)
"We write to demonstrate our total solidarity to our presidential hopeful Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi and register our dissatisfaction with today's Federal High Court judgement which purportedly sacked the governor and his deputy Dr. Kelechi Igwe from office.
"We will like to appeal for calmness and call for all Ebonyians and Umahist all of the nation to go about their daily businesses peacefully as an appalate Court has been approached.
"Our steadfast, unflinching and uncompromising support for Dave Umahi's presidential ambition is sacrosanct and his ambition of becoming Nigeria's next president is a journey of no retreat no surrender and if this joke diverts his attention, though we know he is strong and focused, but if Umahi retreats, NANS Zone F will sue him to the Court of justice, because Nigerians can not endure seeing a person of Akparahube's calibre out of the presidential contest.
"I will like to thank the PDP the Masterminds, the Funders, the Architects and the Engineers of this joke of the year more especially the Abuja based politicians for making our Governor more popular and famous, they have indeed eased our mobilizations and we are urging them to concentrate on their financial crimes & corruption charges in EFCC & ICPC.
"To the best of our knowledge, a situation where a Governor could be replaced on no account of death, resignation or impeachment has never been sighted in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and it will not start in Ebonyi, therefore anybody that wants to be the Governor should start preparing to aspire because 2023 has approached as we are fully, able, capable and ready to depart the Ebonyi State Government House for the AsoRock presidential Villa.
"We are hereby making it know to the public that we are firmly and uncompromisingly standing with H.E Dave Umahi as we are convinced with his clear missions, visions & legacies and any effort to destabilize or truncate his administration will not be entertained.
"No one & nothing shall discourage us".
