Chief Emegha gave the charge at his Abakaiki residence when the forum of local government APC Chairmen in the state paid him Solidarity visit on his successful inauguration at the party national Secretariat, Abuja.
The Ebonyi APC helmsman reminded the local government party Chairmen that their loyalty should be trusted on Leader of the party party in state and not to any other individual, adding that many good things are in the offing for them, courtesy of the leader of the party, Engr David Umahi.
Chief Emegha noted further that the local government is the strength of the party in the state, just as the State is the strength of the Federal, and urged them to take full charge of the party at the local government legal. He equally, warn them against supporting any particular aspirant but should give all, a level playing field until the party decides on who flies the party's flag in the forth coming elections.
He further urged the chairmen to take the presidential ambition of the governor as their number one project, stating that the victory of the governor is sacrosanct come 2023. He charged them to go out and win more souls for the party, adding that politics is a game of number and that the party is ready to accommodate more members.
Emegha assured them of his administration's readiness to carry everyone along in running the affirs of the party.
He said, "the strength of the national is in the state, and the state in the local government. We are all important in this assignment. I will do my best such that
If I'm exiting tomorrow, you will beat your chest and say that you're proud of working with me.
"Mind how you climb so that while landing, it won't be difficult for you. Power is transient, and you should note this while carrying out your dutiies. I am the Chairman today and I might not be there tomorrow. Don't brag about your position but carry everyone along and be a unifying factor.
"Do not support a particular contestant in the state but be for all the members of the party. Play along with the guidelines of the party. Leave money, the immediate thing. Temptations will be coming to you. Many will come begging your support but don't be for a particular contestant and eschew selfishness".
Earlier, the Chairman of the forum who is also the APC Chairman in Ohaozara local government, Engr Francis Ori said they came to pay solidarity to Chief Okoro Emegha as well as to officially congratulate him on his inauguration as the substantive State Chairman which took place on 3rd February, 2021 at the party's National Secretariat, Abuja. He stated that the inauguration of Chief Emegha was the best news of the year, adding that the outing has put the opposition PDP in the state in confusion as they were arguing on the authenticity of Chief Emegha as the party Chairman. The members of the forum passed a vote of confidence on Chief Emegha and pledged to work with him to lift the party high.
