NANS Zone B South East Disassociate Self From Purported Asaba Convention

National Association of Nigerians Students (NANS) Zone B has disassociate itself from the purported Asaba Convention which  scheduled for election between 17th and 19th December 2021.

In a communique reach at the end of the zoom meeting held by the stakeholders of the South South and South East zones, rejected the purported election and aligned with the position of the Assistant Secretary General.

The communique reads in full;
"NANS ZONE B STAKEHOLDERS FORUM
BEEN A TEXT OF COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF ZONE B SOUTH EAST STAKEHOLDERS MEETING HELD IN OWERRI, IMO STATE ON THE 17TH , DECEMBER 2021.
PREAMBLE:
"The meeting had in attendance, SUG Presidents, JCC Chairmen, Zonal officers and National office holders all from SouthEast, former leaders of the organization and others.

"Sequel to the zoom meeting where it was resolved by the stakeholders of South East and South South and so directed that the  proposed Zone B Convention be put on hold and that  the two geopolitical zones should go and resolve among themselves in line with the new order;
the stakeholders of South East Extraction met and  resolved as follows:

"That the said proposed gathering at Kwale is a mere Committee of friends meeting by some elements who do not mean well for the organization.

"That the South East rejects in it totality the holding of election on 17th to 19th December 2021 as proposed by Pedro Chibuzor CPC, and that no person of South East shall attend such kangaroo convention geared towards  undermining us as a people.

"We disassociate ourselves from any outcome already written and masterminded by the proponent of the kangaroo kwale gathering.

"We support the position of the Assistant Secretary General of the zone who has the sole  constitutional responsibility of assemblying and accrediting genuine delegates for convention whom through his various publications has dispelled rumour of convention holding anywhere in the zone.

"Where the Zonal Coordinator Friday Effongekpe is assumed to have transited which we consider as his resignation from office, we hereby call on the Deputy Coordinator Darlington Ugwuegbe to assume the Position of the Acting Coordinator and work together with other available Zonal officers to provide Leadership for the Zone.

"That we support and strongly subscribe to the amended and adopted NANS Constitution by the Senate of NANS.

 "We therefore call on every Zone to  mobilise for Congress ratification and support the new order of six (6) geopolitical zones as captured in amended NANS Constitution which is aimed at ensuring administrative convenience.

"We also call on the National leadership of NANS to speed up the arrangement for the Congress as proposed by the Senate for final ratification.

"To express our readiness for the new order, the meeting resolved and set-up five (5) Man Steering Committee and Convention Planning Committee (CPC), to provide structural leadership which will midwife Zonal executive for the much anticipated New NANS ZONE B- South East as enshrined in the amended Constitution.
