The Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on Thursday said, the 2022 Budget will scale up the Economic Growth and Development of the state.
Nwifuru stated this at the New Executive Council Chamber Ochudo Centenary City, Abakaliki while presenting the thoroughly scrutinized Budget before the Executive Arm.
He said, “Your Excellency, as the caption implies, I am optimistic and confident that the 2022 Appropriation Law will yield fruits to secure the future of our dear State and consolidate on the splendid feats achieved by this brilliant Government. This I am very sure, Your Excellency, will scale up our growth as a State, economically and in every other possible way.”
The Speaker commend the Governor, Honourable Members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and the State’s economic team for their cooperation, sleepless nights and long hours of daily work before, during and after the presentation of the 2022 Appropriation Law.
In his response, Governor Umahi praised the uncommon disposition, deep legislative skills and peaceful nature of the House of Assembly and assured them of prudent spending and accountability in the implementation of the 2022 Budget.
'‘Mr Speaker, let me thank you very highly and all your members, even when on recess, we beckon on you people, and you answer us. This House is one of the most critically formed Assembly. They critically analyze everything we send to them because of their deep knowledge of legislation, and it is evident in the peaceful disposition and productivity of the House. I want to assure you of our accountability and prudence in spending on this Budget. Mr. Speaker, Deputy Speaker, all the Honourable Members, we are very grateful. Thank you immensely for your partnership," Governor Umahi stated.
