The first Executive Chairman,
Ebonyi Senior Comrades Forum, Comr. Okoro Joshua Offor has lauded Governor David Umahi's strategic investment in the Education sector of the state.
Offor, in a speech he delivered on the occasion of 2021 world students day celebration, reads in full;
"World students day celebration is a global event set aside every 17th of November to celebrate and discuss the affairs of students all over the world.
"As it has become a tradition here in Ebonyi state, today 19th November, 2021, which is still within the date frame of celebration, the Ebonyi Students community joins the rest of the students world over to celebrate.
"Our domesticated theme of celebration here in Ebonyi state which is; "Celebrating the transformational Excellence of Gov. Umah" is instructive, unique and outstanding.
"Students all of the world are prepared for leadership, as they go through the daunting process of academic learning. Here in Ebonyi state, not only that students are being prepared for future leadership in the four walls of their various institutions, but His Excellency the Executive Governor of Ebonyi state, Chief Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE, has become a practical and excellent leadership model for Ebonyi students community to emulate.
"The government of Gov. Umahi has since inception prioritized the welfare of Ebonyi students and has taken the educational reform mantra to a higher level of excellence.
"Today gives us, Ebonyi students community an ample opportunity to celebrate and discuss the welfare of the students, as well as celebrating the massive transformational leadership and strides of Gov. Umahi.
"In this age and time of our academic pursuit, practical application of knowledge garnered should be our target instead of overbearing pursuit of theories and outdated academic jargons. Umahi is an example of how knowledge should be applied, we must study him.
"Again, students community world over is known as the largest intellectual bank in the world, ours in Ebonyi state is not exception.
"We must deploy our intellectual capabilities to solving the day to day problems in our dear state, just like our role model the Governor.
"This is the age of entrepreneurship and knowledge economy, and we the students are the greatest deposit of knowledge in the world, we must capitalize that global realities to change our environments.
"I wish you all a happy world students day celebration".
