RMAFC Chairman condemns recent killings of Ebonyi citizens in Benue

The Chairman, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Chief Elias Mbam, has condemned the recent killings of Ebonyi citizens of Izzi extraction in Benue State by the suspected Fulani herdsmen. 

Chief Mbam made the condemnation  on Thursday while given out one of his daughters, Dr. Chinenye Mbam in marriage at his country home Nwofe Agbaja in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Chief Mbam who was highly  overwhelmed for witnessing such a great day, advised the daughter  to put God first in all her endeavours and to be guided by the legacies and moral principles that the family has been known and respected for, while encouraging the son-in-law, Mr. Uchechukwu Ori to always live in the fear of God and to love and care for his wife at all times.

The RMAFC Boss as one of the resource persons in Izhi land and Ebonyi State at large, seized the opportunity to express worry over the heightened insecurity of the country especially the recent massacre of Izhi people at Nwori Ndiobasi in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, and called on relevant authorities to rise against such inhumane act and ensure that the perpetrators of that dastardly act are brought to book, while enjoining everybody to be security conscious.


He also used the opportunity to condemn the inter communal crises in some parts of Ebonyi State, and called on the community leaders to embrace peace and and to encourage peaceful coexistence like brothers and sisters, as such would bring progress and development in the state.

In an interview, the newly married bride, Dr.  Chinenye Mbam, explained that her relationship with her heartthrob, Mr. Uchechukwu Ori, of the Nigeria Army, started in 2011 on a casual basis, after which, she lost his means of contact and later reconnected through the efforts of her  nephew, and as such brought back her lost peace and happiness.

Dr. Chinenye who is a medical doctor described her marriage with a soldiers as a perfect combination, and emphasized that her choice of the guy is because of his love for God and the love and care that he has for her as a lady, pointing out that love and happiness remains her priority. 

She promised to be humble, respectful, helpful, and resourceful at all times, and also advised her friends and fellow girls who are yet to find their own love to remain focused and prayerful as God would soon put smiles on their faces as has done to her today. 

In their goodwill messages, some of the persons who attended the event including the former Honourable member, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Peter Ogeali, the former Honourable member of the Federal House of Representatives and immediate past Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Mrs. Elizabeth Ogbaga, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Cletus Ofoke, the former Commissioner for Works, Engr. Paul Okorie, the former FADAMA Coordinator, Dr. Cletus Nwakpu and the former Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area, Engr. Jef Ogbu, all congratulated the new couple and advised them to always allow love to lead in their marriage, while wishing them a fruitful and happy family.

Others who made their feelings known to the press including the father of the groom Elder John Oreba, His Royal Highness, Eze Cyprian Eke, Eze Gbirim of Izzi Land, Engr. Stanley Nwoga, Hon. Aloysius Nwibo and the brother of the groom, Mr. Chidi Oreba, all in their adorned voices, thanked the Almighty God for establishing the new family, and prayed him to bless the marriage with children, wealth and prosperity while encouraging the new couple to be faithful to each other.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and former Honourable Minister for Power and Steel, Chief Goddy Ogbaga,  admonished Chief Elias Mbam and his family for giving their consent for the establishment of the martial union, and enjoined the new couple to continue with the love which they had already established, and never to allow third parties to intervene in their marriage anytime they encounter differences in their family affairs.
