Irate youths of Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, have pulled down the age long statue of the former Secretary to Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim in Eke Ishiagu while charting the song of freedom on Monday.

It was gathered that June 14 has been designated as a special day in Ishiagu kingdom - a day that all the well meaning sons and daughters of the community usually moved out of their comfort zone taking a step towards their faith for the total liberation of the community.

Some of the people, according to Engr. Damian Okafor and other sources who interacted with our newsmen in order of anonymity, believed that if after now the problem in Ishiagu persist, they may conclude that the problem is natural.

NATIONAL PANEL also learnt that the Coordinator of Ivo Development Centre, Mr Uchechukwu Emmanuel Afudike, led a team of the Ishiagu Community Taskforce to Eke Ishiagu for inspection and possible clean up.

The youths in their number took a unanimous decision of setting Ishiagu free from the oppression of the Ovumte Deity.

The people also questioned how a small community like Ishiagu which has produced a Senate President and Secretary to the Government of Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, 'cannot boast of one classroom block from the man.'

"No road, no water, no electricity, no empowerment, no employment and above all no peace.

"All  we face on daily basis is man made crisis emanating from one man who sees Ivo LGA as his personal property.

"You went and mould your statue at the market for what? Is it for the people of Ishiagu to be remembering your wickedness to the people?

"Is it the numerous crisis that has rocked the community at the instance of your order?

"Could it be that you have mortgaged the destiny of Ishiagu sons and daughters? Whatever it is, the wall of Jericho must go down.

"You did not build one road for us and you went ahead to mount your statue on the only road built by our dear Governor which happens to be the only road we have in Ishiagu.  Why not take the statue to your house?

"One man of God preaching at Ebotrans park Ishiagu once narrated how he was attacked spiritually by men of the underworld insisting that he must stop preaching at Eke Market.

"He further said that the journey to Ishiagu freedom begins with the demolition of that statue as a lot of fetish material has been hidden there of.

"Nobody hate you but allow us to live our lives. Stop toiling with our destinies. You are not God that decides the fate of men," Damian Okafor stated.
