Governor Umahi also commended leaders and Stakeholders of the two clans for their cooperation which led to the return of peace to the areas.

" I want the Izhi people to know that the Government, the CAN have kept to their words by arresting the chief culprit, I don't know what we would have been done without you, because even when people distrust Politicians, they trust CAN and Ebonyi State is a very godly State, people are godly, so for your intervention, Father please extend our gratitude to our Lord Bishop.

“There was a display of leadership by the Deputy Governor and Mr. Speaker and I want to thank you very much for trusting me because we said we were going to get them and finally we did.”

The Governor also applauded the Nigeria Police Force and the Commissioner of Police for their resilience in arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly attacks.

While noting that the final demarcation of the land under contention as was promulgated by the State House of Assembly remains sacrosanct, Governor Umahi warned that any trespass would be dealt with decisively.

Governor Umahi who blamed pockets of hostilities in parts of the country on the failure of Leadership said his administration would fully implement the recommendations of CAN to ensure lasting peace among the two brothers.

He warned that henceforth any leader who allows crisis to erupt in his area would be dethroned to serve as a deterrent to others.

Earlier, the Chairman of CAN, Ebonyi State, Reverend Father Abraham Nwali thanked the Governor and stakeholders of the two clans for their cooperation in resolving the crisis.

"We give gratitude to His Excellency, Apostle Engineer Chief David Nweze Umahi, Executive Governor of Ebonyi State for your continual fatherliness and proactiveness which has always led to finding peace where people are waiting for the bad news.
