Insecurity: Ebonyi governor schedules meeting with respective clans

Governor David Nweze Umahi has scheduled a town hall meeting with stakeholders of different clans in Ebonyi to discuss the way forward on the security situation in the state.


The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr Orji Uche Orji made the announcement on Tuesday.


Orji disclosed that "the governor scheduled to meet with the following groups of stakeholders as scheduled below:

"Ezza Nation – comprising Ezza North and Ezza South LGAs, and all Ezza communities in different Local Government Areas of the State.
 Date: Wednesday, 5th May, 2021.

"Izhi Nnodo clan, comprising Abakaliki, Ebonyi and Izzi Local Government Areas.
Date:  Thursday, 6th May, 2021.

"The people of Ohanivo, comprising Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Local Government Areas.
Date: Friday, 7th May, 2021"

The venue of the meetings, according to Orji is 'Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki and time is 11am each day.'

The categories of stakeholders invited for the meeting including all political office holders- past and present, top government functionaries, traditional rulers, youth and women representatives.

Others are religious Leaders, town union executives, all opinion leaders irrespective of their political affiliations.

The invitees were advised to be seated by 10:30am and to comply with the COVID-19 protocols.
