~Calls for urgent investigation by security agencies

The Chairman, Special Public Works, SPW, Ebonyi State and Chief Executive Officer, EDON Nigeria Limited, a conglomerate of EDON group of Companies, Architect Edward Nkwegu has decried the gruesome murder of over 40 indigenes of Nwori Nduobashi, Odoke and Ndokabe in Addo Local Government Area of Benue State  by Fulani herdsmen.

Architect Nkwegu conveyed his commiseration in a statement in Abakaliki.

While condemning the senseless and heartless action of the brutal herders who slaughtered the people with reckless abandon, Architect Nkwegu wondered why such could befall the Izhi people that are known globally for their peaceful disposition.

"I received with grief the news of the murder in cold blood of our brothers and sisters over there in Benue State by the marauding Fulani herdsmen, I condemn the barbaric acts with all the fibre in me and I challenge the Security Agencies to swing into action by arresting these senseless executioners to enable them face judgement, this way the soul of those who lost their lives would rest in peace"

He called on the Benue State Government to show responsibility and order immediate investigation into the matter to arrest the fleeing attackers and bring them to justice.

While commending the Izhi Stakeholders especially the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru for their solidarity in rescuing the distressed people, Architect Nkwegu prayed God to grant those who lost their lives in the attack rest in his bosom.
