Ebubeagu nabs over 37 suspected criminals in Ebonyi

The Ebubeagu security outfit has arrested at least 37 suspected criminals in Agubia community in Ikwo local government Area of Ebonyi state.

The suspects  were reportedly arrested in their hideout while hatching plans on how to burn down some national assets in the state.


The State Commissioner for Internal Security,Border Peace and Conflicts resolution Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, who confirmed this said the suspects were arrested right where they were plotting to carry out attacks on INEC offices, on Monday. 


He noted that some of the suspects were citizens of the state, also added that criminals from other states were among them. 



"Yes , we arrested them and this was made possible by the Ebubeagu security outfit in the state. 


"These suspects are indigenes of the state and some of them came from different states into Ebonyi to commit these crimes. These are the people burning INEC offices in the state and we heard they were planning to burn some other national assets when they were arrested. 




"They were arrested this morning, 1.30am today (Monday). They were arrested at Agubia in Ikwo Local Government Area of the state. I urge the Ebube Agu security operatives to continue the work. They are trying and very soon, the state government will start paying them. And for those arrested, we have already handed them to the police, for necessary actions," the Commissioner said.
