The supporters and loyalists to the strongman at the head of Ogun from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the late Senator Buruji Kashamu, have defected to the state's ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
The governor of Ogun, Pangeran Dapo Abiodun, received several members of the PDP into his party, APC on Monday.
Director General of PDP Governors Campaign, Kola Sorinola and Aare Remi Bakare were welcomed to APC in an event that came up in Abeokuta.
Bakare and Sorinola expressed confidence that their move from PDP to APC would attract more party members, saying the ruling APC needed good governance.
Governor Abiodun said the APC was large enough to accommodate as many progressive politicians as possible.
He therefore, hinted it is a political orientation exercise in the country, where individuals have freedom join any party of their choices.
