National Water Resources: PMU meets for effective implementation of 2013 master plan



Today being Wednesday 14th April, 2021,  the 4th meeting of the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) for the effective implementation of the 2013 National Water Resources Master Plan kicked off at Ajuji Hotel, Abuja.


Enderline Chukwu, the Chief Information Officer made this known in a statement for the Director, Press and Public Relations unit to the Ministry of Water Resources. 

This according to the statement is a prelude to “a 2Day capacity building workshop for proper understanding of the contents of the 2013 National Water Resources Master Plan” which is to commence on Thursday, 15th to 16th of April, 2021."

The 2013 National Water Resources Master Plan is the plan, polices, programmes and the implementation processes for the Ministry’s effective provision of safe water to all household from year 2013 till date.

We gathered that the first Water Resources Master Plan was 20 drafted in 1995 but, there was no guideline for its implementation.



We also gathered that the National Water Resources ‘Policy guideline is still in draft form and will be considered at the 2-day Capacity building workshop for onward presentation to the Hon. Minister/Federal Executive Council before implementation.

The draft guideline for the implementation of National Water Resources Policy is in 15 Key areas.

The meeting was attended by Director Department of Water Resources, Planning and Technical Support Services, Deputy Directors from the Department and other Stakeholders.
