Abakaliki LG Boss urges council people to be security conscious

In line with the security challenges threatening our society, the Executive Chairman, Abakaliki Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Nwangele has charged all the villages in the area to establish local vigilante in order to check against all forms of criminal acts by unscrupulous elements in the society.

The Council Chairman while officiating on the enlarged security meeting held today at the Local Government Council Headquarters Nkaliki, enjoined the people to be security conscious stressing that gone were the days when the security of lives and properties were left only in the hands of security agents.

The enlarged security meeting was supervised by the State Commissioner for International Security, Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, who called on the people to join hands together with the security operatives in ridding the society off bad eggs who engage in wanton destruction of lives and properties, especially by providing them with prompt and adequate information when the need arises.

The security meeting was attended by the traditional rulers from various communities of Abakaliki L.G.A, DC Coordinators, Ward Councillors, political appointees, academics, town union presidents and village heads from various villages in Abakaliki Local Government Area.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives of Nigeria Police Force, precisely the DPO Ekumenyi Division, Mustapha W.A, the State Security Services, the  Nigeria Immigration Service, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, members of the Neighborhood Watch Security and also the Local vigilante in Abakaliki LGA.
