Umahi to build traditional medicine school - NANTMP

Governor David Umahi has donated land for the building of traditional medicine for the practitioners to advance their careers in Ebonyi State.



The Woman Leader and Treasurer of the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners, NANTMP in the state, Ambassador Mrs Stella Amadi made the disclosure on Thursday in Akwata Igbeagu in Izzi LGA during the sensitization programme about the association's election holding February 27, 2021.






According to her, Governor Umahi donated land to kick off the temporary site for traditional medicine school in the state.

Mrs Amadi also called for a massive turnout of the traditional medicine practitioners as government of Umahi is strongly behind them to ensure a total reformation in the system.


She stated that the present NANTMP is out to fight witch-crafting practices by some native doctors and those using trado-medical practice to destroy destinies of the people.



Amadi commended the leadership of Rev Dr Samuel Ezenyi when served as the Coordinator of the state NANTMP and expressed optimism that if he emerged the Ebonyi Chairman of the association, he would deliver excellently.

Also speaking, the immediate past coordinator of the state NANTMP, Rev Dr Samuel Ezenyi urged the members of the association to strictly work with the advice of the Woman Leader, saying that the movement to reform NANTMP has begun.

He assured the members of association in the state to come en-mass when their attention are needed with hope if emerged as the Chairman would change the ugly stories that had trailed the association.


Ezenyi who is still on the race for the state Championship of NANTMP election appreciated those who honoured the sensitization programme in the area, and urged them to key into the policies and programmes of the state government.



He informed the members of NANTMP in the area that the association's data capturing has started, urging all and sundry to follow suite.



Among other speakers during the event, Dr Sunday Ugbo - the Coordinator of NANTMP in Izzi LGA, his predecessor, Dr Chinedu Opoke, Nkwuda Ede Ejah , the host, Dr Akaaraka Ogbonna, Godwin Onwe appreciated the State Coordinator, Chief Peter Ezigbo with his entourage, assuring him of full support during the election.


The village head, Chief Fidelis Nwofoke  other stakeholders in the area thanked the association
, advised the members to keep promoting peace and unity among themselves.
