The Honourable Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and National Vice Chairman South East, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria - Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has urged Ebonyi youths to join active politics in the state and beyond for better growth and development of the society.

Speaker Nwifuru made this known on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at his official residence in Abakaliki, during a get-together organised by his wife, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, in honour of his 46th birthday.

This was contained in a statement issued and made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Comrade Leo Ekene Oketa in Abakaliki.

The Speaker who charged the youths to be more active in politics, also implored them to eschew rash and unconstructive criticisms by some youths on social media, which has become the order of the day.

For him according to the statement, more inroads into the political fora will equip younger ones with the needed techniques for leadership.

He appreciated Governor David Nweze  Umahi of Ebonyi State and all government officials, distinguished Honourable members, his constituency, family, staff and classmates for their relentless show of love and support which made his 46th birthday, a memorable one.
