Following the nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Coordinator of Ngbo East Development Centre, Mr Joseph Onwe Oge, said there is no longer any opposition party in Ohaukwu council area.
Joseph Onwe Oge, Co-ordinator Ngbo East DC, Ohaukwu LGA, Ebonyi State.

Onwe made this statement at old Government House, Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital.

He said, the defection of Governor David Nweze Umahi has become an added advantage to APC in Ohaukwu  and Ebonyi State in general, as according to him, the members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have collapsed to the progressive party at the national level.

He thanked Governor Umahi for his decision, saying that his defection to APC is a true demonstration of his detribalised spirit and readiness to emancipate Ebonyi people and the South East geopolitical region from political sentiment and backwardness.

"In Ohaukwu, there is no longer opposition party, even PDP members have all joined APC. In fact, PDP has collapsed to APC in my area.

"This shows that our governor's defection to APC is strongly supported by our people. As the registration is going on, we can't carry last in Ebonyi State.

"And that's why I have been calling our people to come out massively to register with the greatest party in Africa, the party which carries people's interest at heart," he said.

Recall that Ohaukwu is the local government area of the first Executive  Governor of Ebonyi State and the sitting member representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District,  Sen. Sam Egwu, who is one of the PDP's major stakeholders in the state.

However, the Ngbo East DC Co-ordinator argued that APC family having the person of Senator Tony Agbo, and other political cabals from the area, PDP has been permanently buried in Ohaukwu.
