Ebonyi: APC registration, revalidation exercise already started

In Ebonyi State, the membership registration and revalidation exercise of All Progressives Congress (APC) started today being Tuesday 9th February 2021.



NATIONAL PANEL reports that the Zonal Vice Chairman of APC in Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Hon John Nwankata toured the zone with the national and state APC committee members to witness the level of compliance during the exercise .

Interacting with newsmen, the National leader of the committee in Ebonyi North Senatorial zone, Mr Oselibe Ugochukwu commended the massive turnout of the people to be registered and revalidated as the members of APC in Ebonyi State.


Ugochukwu said: "From the local government areas I toured today, the turnout was quite impressive. It showed that Ebonyi people are stronngly behind Governor David Nweze Umahi. This exercise on APC membership registration and revalidation in the state particularly in Ebonyi North Senatorial District is quite impressive. 

"There is a room for more improvement. I believe tomorrow's outing will be better than today. Today is just a-day-one for this exercise, but, I am very happy for the people's turnout in Ebonyi North.

Ugochukwu advised Governor Umahi to continue to run all inclusive government, which according to him, has made the opposition party members and non-indigenes in the state to throw their weight around his administration and next level movement.

"I have seen the governor is running all inclusive government. The members of opposition party, and the non-indigenes we met at different polling units attested to this, and I was highly impressed. I have seen avalanche of his people's oriented projects in all parts of Ebonyi. I went to Ebonyi, Izzi, Ohaukwu local government areas today, and I saw that his people are very happy with his administration. I advise Governor Umahi and all other people working with him to sustain the tempo," he advised.

The Vice Chairman of APC in Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Hon John Nwankata expressed happiness for the large turnout of his people for the exercise.

Nwankata said, "though today is the first day of the APC membership registration and revalidation in the state but in Ebonyi North, all the polling units we visited were filled up for the exercise. I'm sure tomorrow, greater number of our people will come for the registration and revalidation exercise.

The Ebonyi North APC Vice Chairman added: "We have actually before now kicked off house to house, ward to ward and local government to local government sensitization of this exercise and our people are happy, because, we are in the same party with His Excellency, Chief David Nweze Umahi, who has used his office to put smiles on the faces of Ebonyians.

"Our people are happy and ever ready to support our governor because of his developmental strides are touching lives in mega styles. Those who came out today to register in APC are a clear indication that Ebonyi stands for APC, and APC stands for Ebonyi State."

He however, thanked the stakeholders and all the people of Ebonyi North Senatorial District for having massively come out for the exercise, and described APC as the moving train and the party that is carrying the peace and unity of all Nigerians at heart. 



He expressed optimism that the support of his people for the APC leadership would no longer allow opposition party to exist in the state, urging all and sundry to join the next level movement. 


Recall that at the polling unit 002 of Abiaofia Ward, the Executive Chairman of Ebonyi LGA, Chief Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga, represented by Mr Sunday Nwenyim said the exercise has started in every polling unit in the area and expressed optimism that her council would come first in the exercise with highest number of registered members.




Also, at the polling unit  013 and 014 in  Ezza-ofu Primary School, Igbughu ward 1, the Izzi LG Chairman, Chief Paul James Nwogha stated that all the facilities and materials have been disbursed to different polling units to ensure the smooth running of the exercise in the area.


Nwogha said, with the level of the compliance of the people on the first day for the exercise has showed that Izzi LGA belongs to APC. 

While at polling units 018 and 019, Nwofe Agbaja Primary School in Izzi LGA,  the State APC stalwarts, Chief Eward Nkwegu and Ambassador Alex Nwofe said that exercise has been peaceful and commended the leaders of the party for their impacts to make membership registration and revalidation most commendable in the state.

The duo noted that Ebonyi people are well known for proper planning for whatever especially under the leadership of Governor David Umahi, saying the peaceful conduct of the exercise was as a result of their good conduct. 


They urged all and sundry to join suite for the registration and revalidation exercise as no other party in the country could address the yawnings of the citizenries.



At polling unit 001, Ogbala Ishieke Primary School, Ndiegu Ward in Ebonyi LGA, the Head of Service in Ebonyi State, Chief Chamberlain Nwele and the Mbeke Development Coordinator, Mr Michael Njoku equally expressed happiness for the massive turnout of their people.


In Ezzamgbo, Ohaukwu LGa, the state Commissioner for Water Resources, Chief Sunday Inyima alongside the traditional rulers and other stakeholders of APC in the area commended the leadership of APC in the state and at the national level.

Chief Inyima called for more provision of registering materials according to him, his "people are willing to register as the members of APC, because of the noble change brought by Governor David Umahi in Ebonyi state."


NATIONAL PANEL reports that the people immensely complied to COVID-19 protocols in the places visited, but, there is still need for provision of facemasks, hand-sanitizers as a part of encouraging them for more compliance especially those in the hinterlands.
