Mrs Mercy Bamai, the NYSC Ebonyi Coordinator disclosed this in Abakaliki while speaking on the batch’s passing-out ceremony.

Bamai said that ten corps members under the batch had their service periods extended for absenteeism while one corps member received the corps’ honour’s award.

“The honour’s award recipient sponsored and donated life-enhancing items to indigenes of his host community and this impacted positively on them”.

The state coordinator noted that 1, 028 corps members served under the batch, consisting of 526 males and 502 females.

“The corps members registered for their orientation course in March 2020 but did not conclude it due to the COVID 19 outbreak.

“They were however recalled to conclude the orientation course due to its importance in the NYSC scheme.

“They were split to join the 2020 batch B—Stream one A, stream one B and stream two, to conclude the orientation course,”.

She said certificates were issued to the corps members by the NYSC inspectors at the various local government areas of the state.

“This was to observe the COVID 19 protocols and I toured the councils to ensure a smooth and successful issuance of the certificates,”.

Bamai enjoined the corps members to be worthy ambassadors of the NYSC and become shining example to other youths.

“They should put into practice, the various entrepreneurship skills acquired during the service year and diligently pursue their respective business ventures.

“They should also be disciplined to be successful in their various endeavours,”.
