Commissioner Orji meets Ebonyi info officers, sets standard for better performance

 






The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and state Orientation, Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji has met with the Area Information officers and Public Relation officers of the ministry posted in the various local Government Areas and Ministries, Departments and Agencies respectively to chart a new course towards effective information management and dissemination.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, the Commissioner, Barr Orji stated that apart from reviewing  the performances of the officers, the meeting afforded an opportunity to re-strategise towards the process of disseminating  information on the good works of the State Governor, Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi.

Orji disclosed that in the last six years, the Governor had demonstrated a strong capacity and will to move  the state forward through robust development.

He stressed that the information Stakeholders  have done well in propagating the course of this development.

He said;

"Why we had this meeting was to evaluate our performance and appreciate  our challenge areas, and also bring about solutions.

" We have agreed that we need to do more to really ensure that we let the whole world know the wonderful strides that our dear governor has attained in the last six years.

"We have agreed that Ebonyi State is no longer what it used to be. All of us, no matter, whether we are resident or non resident, anyone who comes to Ebonyi State will of a truth know that Ebonyi State has been transformed by a singular man.

" We also came to a conclusion that within a record time of history, Ebonyi state is having a history as a state with the fastest development record in the whole world and we do appreciate, that is why we resolved that we need to do everything possible to add more energy and vigour to ensuring that we tell the whole world what the Governor has done in Infrastructure, and Human Capital Development.

"We have no doubt that we have really attained a height that is difficult to beat. Therefore, all of us are commending the Governor, and we are assuring him that we will put more vigour to ensuring that his strides are beamed to the global community"

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, in the Ministry, Mr Ken Uhuo said the meeting was part of the ministry's routine evaluation performance exercise with its Information officers and PROs in different ministries of State government, which is the first in the year, 2021.

He added that the meeting has enabled the ministry to identify areas of challenge from the field officers towards knowing how to address such challenges in other for them to perform better.

He disclosed that as a ministry, it was its statutory responsibility to effectively report and educate the public on what the state government was doing to better the lots of the people of the state.
