APC Exercise: EDON calls for massive registration, revalidation of members

The stalwart of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi, Sir Edward Okereke Nkwegu (EDON) has called his people to massively participate in the party's membership registration and revalidation exercise in the nationwide.


He made the call on Monday at Nwofe Agbaja Primary School in Izzi LGA after his revalidation exercise as an APC faithful in the state.

Chief Nkwegu whose people rose in jubilation to welcome him, when entered his polling centre, charting solidarity songs in the support of the ongoing exercise and commended his steady focus for the progressive mandate as the APC faithful in the state.


Nkwegu expressed joy over the peaceful atmosphere that trailed the exercise in the area and commended the party leadership for being well organized.





He urged the people to ensure a massive membership registration and revalidation in the area, pointing that, anybody up to 18 years and above is qualified to become APC member.


His words: "The exercise in Izzi has been very peaceful and well organized. As far as you are up to 18 years, you can register with APC, and that qualifies you becoming our member. In Ebonyi State, we are known for proper arrangement of anything we are doing. People are coming to register. The people have been coming since morning to register. I want to thank APC leaders for the way they have been able to conduct themselves in the entire country."


He also urged the South East people to register with APC, saying the leaders from the region have been believing in a politics that connected with the centre.

"Register with APC, it is a place to be, it is a national party. Our leaders have been believing the politics of the centre. The leader of Nigeria nationalism, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, believed the politics of the centre. Most of our leaders from the Southeast extraction have been believing in the politics of the centre. If you join APC, we have a better chance attract more dividends of democracy for the benefit of our people," he advised.


He commended President Muhammad Buhari, saying that, his leadership has made tremendous effort to improve the lives of Nigerians, and in the Southeast particular.

"There are alot of life-changing projects in the South Eastern region by Mr President. If you go to Enugu-Port Harcourt road, inland water way in the Southeast has been opened, the second Niger bridge, alot of works have been done, the international airport in Enugu, even Ebonyi international airport - Federal government has already taken over the airport.  So alot works have been done in the South East by Mr President for our benefits," he said.
