The Catholic Priest of Abakaliki Diocese, Rev. Fr. Benjamin Chukwuma Agbo has warned against any attempt by the church to bury his corpse in the Cathedral whenever he passes on.
Fr Agbo shared the message on Wednesday 20th January 2021 at the St. Theresa Cathedral, Catholic Church of Abakaliki Diocese in Ebonyi State before the grave-diggers who were preparing the grave of a deceased Priest for his burial in the following day.
Agbo expressed shock at receiving the news surrounding the demise of his fellow Priest, and however, urged the Catholic faithfuls to not allow his corpse to be buried at the Cathedral whenever he dies.
He said, his corpse would be buried at the Holy Spirit in Action Ministry Abakaliki, HAMA's adoration ground, Egwudinagu Ishieke in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
He added, if the church happens to pay deaf ears to his message, his spirit would disturb and resurrect all the bodies of other Catholic Priests already buried in the Cathedral to the chagrin of the church faithfuls and environs.
"One day, there must be a Bishop that will say, you are my son, in whom I am well please.
"Once, you are ordained a Priest, you are a Priest forever. You may have a bad record with Bishop 'A', 'B', but 'C' will say this is my anointed one.
"The work you are doing is a good one, it's only God that will reward you.
"I am Rev. Fr. Benjamin Chukwuma Agbo, I can see you digging the grave of my fellow Priest, but whenever I die, don't dig my own grave here. When I die, don't bury my corpse at this Cathedral.
"Every person is entitled to where he or she chooses to be buried. You as an elder in our midst, you might have told your people to not deposit your corpse in the morturary when you die. True or false? And if they persist going to mortuary to deposit your corpse, then, you can cause problem. This can happen, because you said it when you were alive and it follows your dead body.
"Whenever, I die, I shouldn't be buried in this parish. Tell the younger ones to not carry my corpse to bury here, because, you may have died before my time to go to my father in heaven. It's possible, and you shouldn't argue it. Please, it's a very serious news. We should take note of this, that Fr Agbo said, when he shall die, nobody should bury his corpse here.
"Our Bishop who was buried here, was he a human or a spirit? He is not even a Nigerian. Is this not true? If he was buried here, he might have chosen to be buried here when he was alive," he said.
