There have been intense verbal onslaughts between Umahi’s supporters and those of Peoples Democratic Party leaders in the state since he defected to the All Progressives Congress.

The situation forced the Ebonyi Founding Fathers forum to organise a peace pact with Umahi and opponents such as Former Sen. President Pius Anyim, Former Governor Sam Egwu, among others in attendance.

The forum resolved that both camps should ‘cease fire on all fronts’ but Umahi recently declared during a security council media briefing that it would be difficult to stop his supporters if his opponents continue attacking him.

Dr Kenneth Ugbala, Secretary to Ebonyi Government said on Thursday during a solidarity rally by the governor’s Executive Assistants, Senior Technical Assistants and Technical Assistants, that the governor would be defended in all situations.

Ugbala who represented Umahi at the occasion, said that the governor’s supporters would be adhering to his directives on the peace pact but would not be afraid of anybody.

“We would obey the governor not to attack anybody but anyone who goes contrary to the peace agreement would be shown the way.

“We would continue ignoring the government’s detractors but would react appropriately whenever they make noise and never allow them.

“We would defend in seven ways if they come in one way as this is the only administration in the state’s history to saddle the youths with responsibilities of governance.

"Mr Stanley Okoro-Emegha, APC Caretaker Chairman in the state thanked the governors’ aides for the rally and noted that he was fully convinced of support to ‘steer the ship."

Okoro-Emegha who doubles as the state Commissioner for Border peace and Internal Security said that the governor and the party would not be distracted by the antics of the political opponents.

“Umahi is busy preparing his blueprint to make Nigeria work and would be definitely missed when he completes his tenure as the governor.

Chief Clement Nweke, Principal Secretary to Governor commended the aides for their contributions to the running of the state and urged them to effectively represent the governor in their various offices.

Mr Emma Nwangbo, Coordinator of the Aides assured that they would support the governor in his ‘next level’ movement to APC which was for the good of the Igbos.

“Anyone who sees your transformational agenda, inclusive governance and ability to ascertain future democratic balance would be convinced of your inherent abilities and capabilities.

Mr Ikechukwu Omiko, Popularly known as Don Bulk, A Technical Assistant to the Governor on Internal Security assured that the state would continue being safe for rapid growth and development.
