The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ebonyi Sector Command has foiled a suspected kidnap attempt by successfully rescuing the female victim.

The disclosure was contained in a statement signed by the FRSC Sector Commander in Ebonyi, Mrs Stella Uchegbu.

Uchegbu in the statement said that on December 2, the corps patrol team stationed at Igbeagu, Izzi Local Government Area (LGA) foiled a vehicle ‘one-chance’ kidnap attempt at Sharon junction, Onuebeonyi near Abakaliki.

“The team successfully rescued a woman whom the suspected kidnappers held captive inside a Toyota Avensis vehicle.

“The team on sending danger, quickly responded and engaged its vehicle siren, rescuing the woman in the process,” the statement read.

The statement indicated that the vehicle driver was apprehended while its other occupants escaped.

“The patrol team also recovered the sum of N160, 000 which the woman said the suspected kidnappers forcefully collected from her.
