Ebonyi Tumult: Peace in sight as Umahi lays foundation stone for civil, public servant housing estate

By Collins Azu

Following series of venomous publications which recently dominated the cyberspace by major political actors leading to tumultuous state of affairs and heating up the polity, there appeared to be peace in the offing as Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi on Monday moved to address housing deficit in the state.
Umahi during the ground and epoch making event in Uburu called on lovers of good governance to unite in the development of Ebonyi State, emphasising that housing and shelter is man's natural need.

According to Umahi, shelter takes precedence over other needs of man hence his resolve in ensuring all the civil and public servants in the state are given tastefully furnished houses to discharge their duties.

But what impressed many attendees in all the governor said during the event was his irrevocable commitments towards peace, development and a prosperous Ebonyi State.

The governor reiterated the place of peace in the democratic and governance process and called on all to sheath swords and give peace a chance.
He said peace has been enthroned in Ebonyi and peace will remain one of the lasting legacies of his administration.

Umahi further stated that as a father, he has decided to shoulder all responsibilities coming from any quarter, irrespective of political cloaks, explaining he has called on his supporters to ignore any dissenting opinion heralding his current political platform.

"I have directed that nobody should abuse anybody,  even if I am abused,  it goes with the job. Do not abuse anybody but you can always put any distorted information straight,  I am the father of the State and should not allow the state to go into bitterness and disunity". Irrespective of accusations, blackmail and political backstabbing, Governor Umahi said he has trashed and has forgiven for the overall interest of the state. "So I have decided to move forward and I have decided to forgive all and all those who may have been hurt because I take responsibility for all the actions of my Government officials and other supporters,  our apologies. I am not going to sit on judgment with anybody, these apologies and forgiveness should be enough to settle all bad blood".
