COVID-19: Use of facemask made compulsory in Ebonyi now - Umahi

Governor David Umahi on Friday made compulsory the use of facemask in Ebonyi State as part of the efforts to checkmate the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

Umahi gave the order in Abakaliki during a press conference against the newly outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The governor suspended all forms of large gatherings including Christmas parties.

He also directed that church services in the state should not last for more than two hours.

Umahi said: “From today, Friday, we are going to reactivate COVID-19 protocols in all public places.

“The resurgence of the COVID-19 in the country is already disturbing. Church services should not last for more than two hours.

“There should be compulsory use of face mask among citizens of the state. Avoid any large gathering. The usual night carol and party have been suspended.

“We must always observe all the COVID-19 protocols, especially in all public places."  (NAN)
