Umahi's sacking of aides not witch hunting but harmonization process - APC

Mr. Simbad Ogbuatu, Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi has said that the ongoing sacking of aides in the state by Governor David Umahi was to promote inclusiveness and accommodate the new party members in governance.

Ogbuatu, who stated this in an interview with NATIONAL PANEL reporter in Abakaliki, noted that the sacking was not witch-hunting to anybody but to build harmonious processes.

It could be recalled that the governor had sacked all political appointees including all coordinators, Senior Technical Assistants, STAs, Technical Assistants, TAs among others from Ohaukwu Local government area of the state.

Governor Umahi had also announced the dissolution of all boards and commissions in the state.

According to the Publicity Secretary, "the sacking is not that if you don't join to the APC, you will be sacked.  It is purely for harmonisation of government processes in the state.

"It is harmonisation processes trying to bring in some persons from the APC in order to balance the government in the state. The Governor wants to carry everyone along.

"To keep the promises he made with the National Working Committees of the APC.

"So, the sacking is just harmonisation processes to accommodate the new party and promote inclusiveness to move not only Ebonyi forward but Nigeria at-large," Ognuatu explained.
