PDP appoints Ali Odefa to replace Austin Umahi as S/East Zonal Boss

 






 PDP has appointed the former Senior Special Assistant to Ebonyi governor, Hon. Ali Odefa as the South East Zonal Caretaker Chairman of the party in the state.
 
Odefa was appointed to replace Austin Umahi, the brother of Ebonyi State Governor who was recently sacked as former occupants of the position in the zone, NATIONAL PANEL gathered.
 
According to the Nations News, Odefa had in a few years back contested the same position with Umahi’s brother but lost as a result of in house squabbles.
 
The appointment of Odefa and the former house of representative, Hon. Lazarus Ogbe, who represented Ikwo/ Ezza south Federal constituency, was contained in a press statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of PDP Kola Ologbondiyan and forwarded to our correspondent.
 
The statement reads in part: “PDP names Ali Odefa South East Zonal Caretaker Chairman
 
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Chief Ali Odefa as Chairman of the reconstituted South East Zonal Caretaker Committee of the party.
 
“The NWC also named Hon. Laz Ogbei as Auditor of the South East Zonal Caretaker Committee of the party.
 
“The action of the NWC is pursuant to Sections 29 (2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).
 
“The reconstituted South East Zonal Caretaker Committee is to pilot the affairs of the party in the South East Zone for a period not exceeding three months (90) days as prescribed by section 32(2)(e) of the PDP Constitution.
 
“The NWC enjoins all members of our great party in the South East zone to continue to work together in harmony for
 the task ahead, especially at this time our nation looks up to our great party for solution and direction," it stated.
