The high court in Ebonyi on Tuesday acquitted and discharged Mr Jeremiah Nwogozie, who was arrested and charged for false information.

Delivering the judgement in Abakaliki, Justice Vincent Nwancho said the prosecution has failed to prove the accused person committed the offence.

"The prosecution has failed to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt. The accused person is acquit and discharge," Nwancho stated.

The DefenceCounsel, Mr Emmanuel Alo told reporters that Jeremiah Nwogozie was arrested on Feb. 4, 2018 by the police.

"He was arrested in the court when he came to testify on a case on Feb. 4, 2018. And as well charged to court for given false information.

"The matter has to go trials and court ruled that the prosecution has failed to prove the case. Though, he (Jeremiah), has been on bailed but today, justice has been done and he is acquitted and discharged," Alo explained.
