PMB approves automatic employment to education graduates


This was disclosed by the the country's Education Minister, Alhaji Adamu Adamu on Monday, October 5.

Adamu stated that the initiative was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said: "President Muhammadu Buhari has approved automatic employment for students of education upon graduation", while marking the World Teacher’s Day Celebration in the Nigerian capital, Abuja. 

Buhari also have approved the free tuition fee and automatic admission of the biological children of teachers into schools. 

The President also directed that teachers salaries to be reviewed upwardly. 


NATIONAL PANEL earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari approved a special salary scale for Nigerian teachers in commemoration of the World Teachers Day.

Mr. President increased the service years for teachers from 35 to 40 years, while noting that the implementation of the new salary scheme is to encourage teachers in delivering better service in their respective areas of assignments. 

Meanwhile, Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has commended teachers in Nigeria for their role in nation-building as they joined their counterparts to celebrate World Teachers' Day 2020 on Monday, October 5. 

In a statement by his Spokesman, Olisa Ifeajika, the Governor said that teachers were the bedrock of the development of any nation, adding that no other profession can metamorphose without the input of teachers.

 Okowa commended teachers in Delta for their commitment to teaching and learning in all public and private schools in the state, and affirmed that his administration placed a high premium on the welfare of teachers and other workers in the public service. 

Similarly, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has congratulated teachers in the state on the occasion of this year's World Teachers' Day.

Bello in a statement issued on Monday, October 5 by his Spokesperson, Onogwu Mohammed extolled teachers for the critical role they play in moulding and building the society through their quality teachings. 

The Kogi governor noted that, teachers remained the father of all other professions, and nobody could attain any height in his or her professional calling without first of all being taught by a teacher.
