Nigeria@60: Buhari sets standards as true democrat - Nwite

Following this year's independence anniversary of Nigeria, now has clocked 60, beginning from 1st October, 1960, the well meaning citizens have continued to express their feelings on the state of the nation.

Addressing journalists at Abakaliki on the Independence Day, the member Federal Governing Council and Chairman Board Establishment, Sokoto Rima Basin Development Authority, SRRBDA, Hon. James Nwogha Nwite described Mr. President as a leader par excellence.


Nwite stated that the re-emergence of President Buhari under democractic dispensation was call to set standard in the country's leadership system.


He attributed PMB as the most youth friendly President since Nigeria returned to democracy, pointing that his N-power programme and not too young to run bill signed into law among others have earned him much accolades from various youth wings.

He noted that Buhari has distinguished himself in different sectors, which according to him, signifies that the  President, is "Mr. Integrity."

"All Nigerians are happy. Most recently, his stand during the recent election held at Edo State, justified that he is Mr. Integrity. He keeps his promises made during the electioneering campaigns. President Muhammad Buhari has set a standard as a true democrat. 

"Mr. President is the most youth friendly leader we ever had in Nigeria. 

"In terms of infrastructural development, he is doing wonderfully well. No geo-political zone has nothing to testify about his transformation lights on infrastructure, and human development especially his empowerment programmes where avalanche of youths are the beneficiaries.

"We celebrate sixty years independence anniversary of Nigeria, today being October 1st 2020, and I must tell you that Mr. President is indeed committed to make sure his administration repositions this country better than the way he met it before bowing out from his office."

Further, Nwite extended gratitude to all Nigerians for the peaceful celebration across the nation while observing the event, extoling the maganmious performances of the Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu and his counterpart, the state FCT Minister, Dr. Ramattu Tijjani Aliyu who was the immediate past Chairman of Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, SRRBDA.

He also lauded the new Board Chairman of SRRBDA,  Alhaji Hassan Ahmad Danbaba (the Magajin of Sokoto), for his meritorious appointment by Mr. President, his colleagues, the management and staff of the authority, enjoining all and sundry to be a party to a peaceful co-existence for the rapid development of the country.
