NASUU Boss speaks against Ebonyi Govt's decision to proscribe Union

The Chairman None Academic Staff Union of University, NASUU, Comrade  Michael Nwovu describes the proscription of the the Union as unconstitutional.

Comrade Nwovu state this while reacting to the proscription of the Union's activities in Ebonyi State University EBSU.

He said apart from there has been no promotion of staff in the institution till date, the staff also, do not earn allowances due for them like other Universities in Nigeria.

"2015 and 2016 promotions were  never implemented financially, it was only notional. As I speak to you, since 2016 till date, there has been no promotion in University and at the same time, the Governor is forcifully trying to downsize the workforce and to reduce their Salaries by twenty percent". He explained.

He called on the National leadership of the Union to come to their aid.

Also, the immediate past treasurer of the Union, Comrade Victoria Oguji advised  Governor  Umahi  not to allow the University collapse in his own time.

"The University is rated high in entire Southeast, making it to collapse in your own time would not yield a success story to your Government". She said.

She called on the Stakeholders of the State to intervene and restore the dignity of the School.
