#ENDSARS: Gangmen burn two Police stations, court in Ebonyi Governor’s LGA

 




The Ohaozara Police Station, Uburu, the hometown of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has been razed into ashes by hoodlums operating in the guise of #EndSARS protesters. Also burnt were police station and customary court at Okposi in the same Ohaozara local government area.




An eyewitness narrated that the gangmen struck around 1pm on Thursday, and overpowered the Policemen on duty who ran for their lives.

He said that the pandemonium generated by the invasion made the villagers living around the station to scamper for safety while the hoodlums carted away valuables from the station as they set the buildings on fire.

The eyewitnesse said: “The attackers and others who had the mind to enter the scene early looted Plasma Televisions, Generators and some guns."

Confirming the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Phillip Maku stated that some of his officers and men were injured during the rampage.


The affected facility at Okposi was new station complex recently constructed by Governor Umahi, which has not been commissioned for use.

The customary court complex in Court area, Okposi existed since colonial days.
