A-21 year old acclaimed Pastor, Uchenna Chukwuma was arrested by the Anambra Police Command for having allegedly murdered a herbalist, Oliver Chukwudi Ugwu with machete.
The suspect was arrested at Nkpor in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State following his claim that God sent him to kill a 60-year-old native doctor from Umuavor village, Abor in Udi local government area of Enugu State.
This was disclosed by the Spokesperson of Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed.
According to Mohammed, Police learnt that the incident happened by 2:10pm on September 3, 2020.
He said, when Police detectives attached to Ogidi Division led by the DPO CSP Ekuri Remigius stormed the scene of incident, the victim was found in a pool of his blood.
He added that the victim was rushed to Iyi Enu hospital Ogidi for medical intervention but later certified dead by the medical personnel on arriving the the area.
“The Suspect who hails from Amagunze in Nkanu East LGA of Enugu State claimed during interrogation that he was sent by God to kill the native doctor. He further alleged that the victim was disturbing him spiritually and has not allowed him to progress financially." He said.
Meanwhile, the machete used in murdering the herbalist has been recovered by Police but the case is now handled by criminal investigation department, Awka to uncover the hand behinds the ugly incident whereas the corpse of the victim was deposited in the matuary for autopsy in undisclosed hospital.
