Ebonyi State PDP Chairman,  Barr. Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi has felicitated with Governor Godwin Obaseki for his re-election, saying his victory is a victory for Edo people.

Nwebonyi said, the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki in the Saturday's gubernatorial election in Edo State represents the will of Edo people.

According to him, "It is a victory for the people and a victory for democracy. Edo people have decided on what they want. It is not about PDP; it is not about APC, it is about freeing Edo people from the hands of plunderers."

The Ebonyi PDP Boss added: "While I congratulate Governor Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, I commend Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu for his show of statesmanship. Ize-Iyamu is a good man but had played into a wrong hand. Adams Oshiomhole with his uncultured manners and unguided utterances has demarketed Ize-Iyamu."

He lauded Mr. President for his commitment to credible elections in the country alongside the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Rivers state governor, Onyesom Wike, for their excellent performance during the Edo election.

"I also commend highly, President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to credible elections in Nigeria. Of course if Buhari continues with this trend, it will be the greatest legacy he is leaving for Nigeria when he leaves office. It will also help to correct the impressions of the 2019 general elections.

"INEC performed creditably well in this election and deserves commendations. They should strive to hold unto that.

"Governor Nyesom Wike led a good outing in Edo State. He refused to be intimidated and made sure the right thing was done in Edo irrespective of who wins the election. I commend him highly, as well as other PDP stalwarts both within and outside the state who contributed to the party's success at the poll.

"I therefore wish to enjoin Governor Obaseki to be magnanimous in victory and always remember that his victory is the collective will of Edo people."
