FFS assures partnership with Ebonyi govt to fight fire outbreak

The Federal Fire Service, FFS, has assured Ebonyi state Government of its preparedness to safeguard  lives and properties of the people against fire accident in the state.

FFS Commandant, Ebonyi State Command, CSF Ezeora Chinweuba gave the assurance when he visited the Commissioner for Environment, Comrade Jonah Egba with his team at Centenary City, Abakaliki.

The commandant noted that the essence of the visit was to familiarize with the ministry and appreciate the State Governor, Engr David Nweze Umahi for the office accommodation allocated to them through the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala.


He commended the numerous infrastructural strides of this administration and promised to protect them from any disaster.

Responding, the Commissioner for Environment, Comrade Jonah Egba appealed to Federal and State Fire Service in Ebonyi to work in synergy to ensure quick response to any fire incident whenever it occurs.

Egba described fire service commission as an essential stakeholder in environmental protection that would not be neglected, adding that Gov. Umahi's led administration is one government that gives priority attention to security matters.
The Commissioner who assured them of harmonious relationship, also said that the Ministry would constitute inter- ministerial committee involving all the security Agencies to sensitize Ebonyians on the safety measures against Environmental hazards.

Concerning their request for the State to provide Utility vehicle, fire trucks and land among other things for the commission, the Commissioner promised to present them to the Governor for further directive.
