Diverse socio-political organizations and political war-lords have continued calling the Chairman, Southeast Governors' Forum, the Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi to head for the apex position in the country come 2023 general elections.
NATIONAL PANEL gathered today that the Nigerian youths forum sent their solidarity message through the state chapter of the organization known as the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN.
NYCN said, Nigerian youths have sat down and engaged in a critical analysis of the political situations of the country and found out that the southeast deserves the position of the Presidency in 2023.
The group who has finalized adopting Engr. David Umahi as their sole presidential candidate following his marketable possessed qualities for the apex position because of his development strides.
Comrade Godwin Emeji, who is the Leader of the Ebonyi State Chapter of NYCN made the call in an interview with newsmen in Abakaliki.
According to him, the reason is due to the clamour for a better Nigeria, which is feasible through a pragmatic and a marketable person such as Engr. David Umahi, the Governor of Ebonyi State.
His words: "We advocate for a modern and focused leadership, we formed a room for acomprehensive and thorough search, for a purposeful leader and a visionary leader, and while In the midst of our search,
"Engr. David umahi becomes our best bet because he has led us with evidence so far, so good,
"Governor umahi, having served in different other capacities such as the state chairman people's democratic party ( PDP), as well as in the capacity of a deputy governor,
"His Excellency, governor David Nweze umahi has not rested, he his always
thinking of possible ways to develope Ebonyi state,
"and ofcourse to the interest of the whole country, ever since his assumption of office in 2015, he has been able to change the looks of Abakaliki capital city in terms of infrastructure and human capital development.
"The magic is not just that the road culminated in over two thousand kilometers withing the shortest period of time,
"But he has brought unprecedented innovation to it by constructing the road on the rigid pavement , a road that is guaranteed to serve for sixty years".
Comrade Emeji, who called on youths leadership from other extractions, youths of the Arewa, Youth Consultative Forum, (AYCF) Odudua Youth council of Nigeria, Niger Delta youth assembly and Middle Belt youth assembly in conjunction with the national youth council of Nigeria and forum of state chairmen including Abuja, making it 37 to support David Umahi for Presidency in 2023, added that the Clarion call is for the entire youths of the nation to wake up to enthrone youth friendly leader in apex position of the country with leadership ingenuities.
On areas of security, Mr Emeji said that Umahi has been able to deal with communal clashes amongst other boundary problems, believing that the Ebonyi State governor shall deliver if given chance to take over from President Muhammad Buhari after completion of his second tenure.
"Ebonyi State Governor, if given the opportunity, issues of boko haram and herdsmen attack will be a history,
"Considering what he has done in Ebonyi state by uniting herdsmen to the host community, tell me why such will not be applicable in Nigeria", he noted.
He maintained that Umahi, having proved himself on the art of good governance,Will eventually advance the cause of the nation if given the chance.
"We the youth have seen the genius in him , in addition to his leadership prowess,
"we make just a request that governor umahi should just accept the call to serve Nigeria.
"Since the biblical dictum that he who can also do a smaller things can be trusted in great ones .
"Now that the wave is blowing, calling on the direction of the south East and Igbo presidency, it will be of great imperative that the youth council of Nigeria Ebonyi state chapter.
"are calling other youth forum and well meaning Nigerians and advocate that Governor umahi should be sported to lead Nigeria by 2023", he assured.
Investigations carried out by NATIONAL PANEL uncovered that the political lords of the country and beyond are huddling up for Governor David Nweze Umahi for Presidency to come true in 2023 following his developmental turnaround while serving as the governor of the Ebonyi even though his state is second least in terms allocation distributed to all 36 states in Nigeria.
