NUJ Zone C VP, Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku, Sends Inspiring October Message To South East Journalists, Citizens

The Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone C (South East), Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku, JP, has issued an inspiring goodwill message to journalists, media practitioners, and the citizens of the South East geopolitical zone as they welcome the month of October 2026.

In an official statement signed and released on Thursday, Comrade Adiuku praised the unwavering resilience, professionalism, and commitment of media professionals across the five South East states: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo. 

He commended their dedication to fulfilling their constitutional mandate of informing, educating, and holding public authorities accountable.
Highlighting the indispensable role of the press, Adiuku emphasized that the media remains a vital pillar of democracy.

He urged practitioners to strictly uphold professional ethics while navigating the rapidly evolving challenges within the modern media landscape.
"As we step into this new month, I bring you warm greetings from the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Zone C (South East)," Adiuku stated in the message. "October is here—a time for renewal, reflection, and renewed commitment to truth, professionalism, and the collective progress of our beloved region."

Addressing media professionals directly, the NUJ Vice President added: "To our hardworking journalists and media practitioners across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States: your dedication to truthful reporting, even in the face of challenges, continues to strengthen democracy and hold power to account.

This month, may your pens be mighty, your cameras clear, your voices bold, and your safety assured."
Comrade Adiuku also expressed his gratitude to the citizens of the South East for their steadfast support of a free and responsible press. He called for a stronger, more collaborative partnership between the media and the public to drive transparency, foster good governance, and promote sustainable regional development.

Concluding his message, the Zonal VP prayed for sustained peace, prosperity, and unity across the South East, urging all regional stakeholders to remain hopeful and dedicated to building a brighter future.
