Ebonyi state commissioner for special projects, Dr. Ngozi Obichukwu has ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general election vowed to join forces with stakeholders to mobilize women to ensure massive votes for governor Francis Nwifuru and all candidates of the ruling All Progressive congress, APC.
Also, the commissioner for budget,
planning research and monitoring, Chinwe Okah applauded the governor Francis Nwifuru for engaging more women in his administration.
Obichukwu and Okah made this known while addressing journalists during the grand finale of the 2026 August meeting for Ebonyi women, which was organized by the wife of the governor, Uzoamaka Mary-Maudiline Nwifuru and held at the Pa Ngele Oruta township stadium.
In their separate reactions, Obichukwu said that the governor has performed beyond expectations and deserved to be reelected to complete all the ongoing projects that are scattered across the 13 LGAs of the state.
According to her: ""Governor Francis Nwifuru is coming back to finish the job that he has started in this state. We women have already gotten our tools. If you don't have your farm tools, you're wasting time on your farm.
And what is our tool? Our PVC. We are fully registered with APC and we are 85% of the population. We are the ones that do the voting.
"If a woman gets a vote of 70% in a particular contest and men are doing only 30%, don't you know that we have won?
"So, women are ready and more serious to ensure that the governor Francis Nwifuru and all the candidates of the APC is elected in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
"Our resilience will equally influence our voting. In the whole Southeast, Ebonyi has the highest number of women in governance.
The commissioner for special projects, Obichukwu, however urged women to be focused, get enlightened with the current trends in the world, to enable them get more political positions in the state.
"A woman who wants to succeed must be in line and in trend with the happenings of the world.
"If you are not educated, you are highly unacceptable.Yes, education is the key and our dear governor is hampering that too" she stressed.
On her part, the commissioner for budget planning research and monitoring Okah said the governor Francis Nwifuru has no challenger in the forthcoming general election, and as such, will be massively voted for by Ebonyi women.
"There's nobody contesting the governorship position with our dear governor. I assure you that the women of Ebonyi State are solidly behind His Excellency, Governor Francis Nwifuru
Because if you look at what is happening today, it has never been like this.
Even though all the past governors have been recognizing women, but this one, this particular administration has recognized women in such a way that is extraordinary. And the women are not joking with him.
"So, that is why we have our full support with him. And you see what happened yesterday that more women from the rural communities are to be appointed as executive assistants to the governor.
"This is why Ebonyi women are insisting that the governor Francis Nwifuru must be reelected in the forthcoming general election" she noted.
