Gov Kefas Backs Operational Take-Off of 10 Division, Pledges Full Government Support

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has pledged the full support of the Taraba State Government for the successful take-off of the 10 Division Nigerian Army, Headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba State. 

The Governor gave the assurance in Abuja while receiving members of the Nigerian Army ORBAT 2023 Review Committee, led by the Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation, Major General BT Ugiagbe, who paid him a courtesy visit as part of engagements on the take-off of the Division.
Describing the establishment of the Division as a vital milestone for Taraba and the North-East, Dr Agbu Kefas noted that the state’s vast territory, extensive international border with the Republic of Cameroon, and strategic border communities of Kurmi, Takum, Gashaka and Sardauna the need for a stronger military presence to combat emerging security threats.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for the initiative, describing it as a significant boost to national security and regional stability. The Governor reiterated the State Government’s readiness to provide suitable land and every necessary support to ensure the successful establishment of the Division.
Dr Agbu Kefas expressed confidence that beyond improving security, the 10 Division would stimulate economic activities, attract investment, create employment opportunities and accelerate infrastructure development across Taraba and neighbouring Adamawa State.
Earlier, Major General Ugiagbe conveyed the goodwill of the Chief of Army Staff and commended Gov Agbu Kefas for his consistent support to the Nigerian Army. He explained that the new Division, which will oversee military operations in Taraba and Adamawa States, is designed to strengthen command and control, improve operational efficiency and enhance the nation’s response to evolving security challenges.
