2025 Nnesweoha: Ohaneze Ndigbo Ilwo Chapter Calls For Cultural Rebirth

The Chairman Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ikwo LGA, who doubles as the Publicity Secretary ALGON Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ebonyi State, Elder Hon.. Stephen Nwukwu Ogbonnaya, has called for cultural rebirth in Ikwo Noyo clan to safeguard from going into extinsion.

He made the wake up call in view of the upcoming Nnesweoha festival of Ikwo Noyo people.

"Culture  is  the. shared beliefs, customs, social norms, values, and traditions of a group of people, encompassing everything from their language and art to their food and social behaviors.It's a dynamic and complex whole that shapes how people live, interact, and understand the world around them. 

"Nnesweoha is one of the significant cultural festival in Ikwo Noyo clan which  signifies the end of farming season and welcoming of new yam.

"Ikwo in Ebonyi state of Nigeria and other ethnic groups in West Africa, marks the successful yam harvest and serves as a time for expressing gratitude to ancestors and the divine, while also reinforcing cultural identity and community bonds. Recent reports highlight the festival's importance in celebrating cultural heritage and its potential to unite communities.
