We do this annually, because we believe that the unrest we have in the society is as a result of idleness. There's a saying that,an idle mind is the devil's workshop. So,we understand that one of the major ways to curb insecurity and other menace in the society is by engaging the young people. If they are meaningfully engaged, they will be too busy to go out and commit crime. So, we came together as a team 'Rise Team' to begin this training. We bring young people together once every year and we have been doing this for the past five years. We bring them together, train them in different skills. This is our own little way of giving back to the society. We can say for sure that we have record of people who are doing well today that we have trained under this program. Infant, some of the people facilitating the program are the people we have trained. We deemed it fit to come to the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, to see how we can partner. We have been doing this thing on our own and many people don't even know that something like this is going on. So, the world need to know. We need to create awareness that there's an exercise like this, and the need for people to join. So, that's why we have come to see if we can partner and Integrate so as to achieve a better success".
