5th VC of MOUAU dies in auto-crash

The immidiate past Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) in Abia State, Prof Francis Ogbonnaya Otunta, has been reportedly involved in a fatal accident that took his life untimely.

Prof Otunta was the 5th Vice Chancellor of MOUAU from 2016 to 2021 when he handed over the mantle of leadership to the Professor of Food Science and Tourism, Prof Ofor Iwe on March 1st, 2021.

Prof Otunta, a native of Nkpoghoro in Afikpo north local Government Area of Ebonyi State has a first class honours in Mathematics from the University of Benin, Benin City in Edo State.

Prior to his appointment as the 5th Vice Chancellor of the Federal Government owned Michael Okpara University, he was the Rector of Alkanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwanna, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

NATIONAL PANEL reports that the news surrounding the death of the erudite university don, Prof Otunta broke out to this early morning, Tuesday 30th March, 2021.

Sympathizers of the deceased academic scholar, described him as a man filled with intelligence and wisdom, who was ever ready to summount every challenges and predicaments.
