Ex-Ebonyi NANTMP Boss joins APC, hails Umahi's political movement

The Chief-of-All-Chiefs of the cabinet members of the Onuoha III of Nkaleke Echara Unuphu Autonomous Community in Ebonyi LGA of Ebonyi State and the immediate past Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners, NANTMP in the state, Chief Dr. Austin Ekechi has joined the political movement of Governor David Nweze Umahi from PDP to APC, the ruling party at the national level.


Ambassador Austin Ekechi popularly known as 'Omeruoha' broke the gist Wednesday at his country home, Ugwuachara Nkaleke in Ebonyi LGA.


He said that the leadership ingenuities of Umahi since assumed office in 2015 till date as the governor of  Ebonyi, has placed the state at the centre of national discourse, and prayed for his emergence as the Nigeria President come 2023.


Ekechi also commended Governor Umahi's developmental impacts in Ebonyi, saying that, his feats have given the state an international outlook, with avalanche of  highly profiled personalities and resources in businesses coming for investment and different impactful programmes.



Commending those working with Umahi, he extolled Rev. Fr. Abraham Chukwuma Nwali, who is the Senior Special Adviser to the governor on Religion and Welfare Matters and state Chairman of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) for his steadfastness and philanthropic gestures, making people's livelihoods blossoming especially the indigents.



Omeruoha equally shared his heart of gratitude to the traditional ruler and Onuoha III of  Nkaleke Echara Unuphu Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Sunday S.N Oketa for having kept his community peacefully, being a strong supporter of the state government, and for attracting diverse dividends of democracy to the people.


It could be recalled that Ekechi served as the APC Chairman of Echiaba Ward, also the Chairman of all the ward chairmen in Ebonyi LGA, but defected into PDP as a strong admirer and supporter of Governor David Umahi with over 75 members of APC after the 2015 general elections.


He has however, returned to the APC family following Umahi's defection from PDP to his former party, and promised to continue to support the governor with his innumerable loyalists from PDP which according to him, will soon be made public.


He therefore, urged all and sundry to join Umahi's political revolutionary campaign to rewrite the political history of Nigeria, especially the Southeastern geopolitical zone, and maintained that, the governor is a Godsent leader and deserved much accolades for being ready to serve humanity.
